However, MTB usually wears knobby tire and it will have to bring very loud noise on stationary tire drive trainer, so they must replace the tire to a slick one or replace the whole rear wheel just for training. It's troublesome.

TACX SIRIUS

The Sirius is a striking cycletrainer with an ergonomically shaped frame that rebounds slightly while you ride. The magnetic brake contains two discs, each of which is equipped with six permanent magnets. You can use the 10-position lever on your handlebars to shift the magnets' position inside the brake unit in relation to one another. During your work out the power increases when you speed up and/or shift to a bigger gear. MINOURA ROLLER

Quiet & smooth rollers with 80mm diameter drum

Besides the stationary trainer is aiming for building muscles and cardiopulmonary function, rollers is the equipment for learning total riding skills such as better weight balance, smooth knee action or pulling heel technique.

The bike on a stationary trainer is fixed on the frame so everybody can get it on easily, but the bike on rollers is NOT supported at all so if you lose balance there, you will have to fall off. Therefore, people say that rollers requires at least mid level riding skill to prevent from such accident.
However, you don't need to be afraid. Rollers is not so difficult. If you are a standard rider who can ride bike on road without any staggering, you will be able to ride rollers soon!

The training on stationary trainer could be boring because the bike is stiffly fixed.
But you will be able to enjoy the natural riding feel on rollers. It's very realistic and exciting.
